Bench Mark

Drive 2 Survive has made and installed a memorial bench to a Simey Doherty, a young Traveller man who took his own life. Please listen to and share his story.


Bench mark: The memorial bench to Simey Harry Doherty can now be seen outside the Holwell Gypsy Site on the A414 in Hertfordshire. It is the 2nd of 12 sculptures to be made by Drive 2 Survive marking the places, people and issues of central importance to Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communties across the United Kingdom, kindly funded by the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust.

Simey's tragic death from suicide 7 years ago ripped his family's world apart. In this dramatised video, his lovely mum Lisa tells his story.
